Previous version: 1-1-12102011
Availability date: December 10th, 2011

Features added:

  • High Availability: Added health check features for all infrastructure components. With this feature, all platform services are monitored for availability and will restart the services on failure detection. In case of VM failures, the PaaS controller will re-provision all services and re-deploy the applications. This will eliminate the need for developers to write additional logic to handle infrastructure failures.
  • New Java EE Containers: Added support for Glassfish 3.1.1 and JBoss 7. This is in addition to Tomcat and JBoss 4.
  • MySQL Cluster Support: Added support for MySQL cluster database with defined number of data nodes. It requires at least 3 nodes to select a MySQL cluster. One node is used as management node and two are used as data nodes.
  • Custom Domain Name: Custom DNS names can be configured for applications from the Application Details page.

Current Limitations:

  • MySQL and MySQL cluster database servers are monitored and failures are reported and notified to the user. PaaS can recover mysql nodes from server failure, but the automatic re-provisioning of data nodes is not supported by the platform. User is required to re-provision the database servers.
  • Monitoring data for all servers is limited to availability, CPU and memory usage.
