18 months ago CumuLogic began working with Fortune 1000 firms to validate the need and derived business value for a Java PaaS. The journey included an interesting twist. Our clients expressed a need for much more than a Java PaaS, or any other currently available PaaS for that matter. Their needs proved to be drastically different and diverse from what a single point solution, like a traditional PaaS could provide. As our clients move toward a shared services delivery model with ITaaS or Business-as-a-Service as a desired end state, they’ve articulated a need for a fundamental suite of composable services for their private and hybrid clouds. These services need to be provided on-demand, they need to be scalable, and they need to be resilient.
We listened, learned, and retooled.
Today, we announce the first major release of our platform, available for private beta to selected enterprises and free for 90 days to users of HP Cloud. CumuLogic Platform 2.0 is our first release designed to meet the services needs expressed by our enterprise clients to support their cloud transformations. Today, CumuLogic PaaS is the only PaaS platform which provides integrated cloud services such as Database-as-a-Service, MongoDB-as-a-Service, Load Balancer and more.
Enterprises have invested billions of dollars in building out their datacenters, application infrastructure, tools for development, testing and compliance and security solutions. They have established processes which they need to leverage as they transform to cloud. We’ve learned that a point solution PaaS doesn’t cut it for large enterprises. Enterprises want to evolve their infrastructure to cloud (mostly private clouds) and as they do so, they look toward Amazon Web Services as a blueprint for their private clouds. They want the robust architecture of Amazon cloud and recognize the value a suite of Cloud Services like Amazon RDS, DynamoDB, Beanstalk, Messaging provides. With a suite, they see they can orchestrate services to design complex architectures, apply security policies, maintain compliance and, most importantly, achieve outcomes with greater agility. CumuLogic PaaS is the only PaaS designed to meet these needs. CumuLogic provides that suite of cloud services allowing enterprises to transform everything to a service.
We believe the future of enterprise IT is going to evolve to Everything-as-a-Service and CumuLogic’s platform is the only platform which enables enterprises to start their journey today. We will start to publish more details on CumuLogic PaaS, including our roadmap of cloud services, in the coming weeks.
Until then, try CumuLogic’s platform for free for a limited time on HP Cloud. It takes less than two minutes to sign up for a free account.

DevOps goes away. It just doesn’t matter to end users (developers) and it is not the face of IT anroyme. It just sits in the background and does its job. The face of IT now is developer interface offered by PaaS. In the case of hosted PaaS, ops becomes someone else’s problem (except in rare cases where the devs needs to manage infra issues)
